15-min Protocol        

1. Remove SDS (6 minutes)

• Place the mini gel into a microwavable tray containing 200 mL of water. Rinse the gel, and discard the water.

• Add 200 mL of water to the gel, cover the tray and microwave it until the water starts boiling. Shake the tray for 3-4 minutes, and discard the water.

• Rinse the gel with 200 mL of water, and discard the water completely.

2. Stain (9 minutes)

• Add 25-50 mL of VARNABlue™ Protein Gel Staining Solution to cover the gel. Cover the tray, and microwave it for 1-2 minutes. Do not  boil the stain.
  

• Shake the tray for 3-4 minutes, and discard the stain.

• Rinse the gel with 200 mL of water, and discard the rinse.

      Note: Leave the gel in water overnight to maximize sensitivity and decrease background.
